Who is Piia Mäkilä? 

I’m the owner of Unelma and a certified local guide in Mäntyharju. 

I’m also the head trainer of Retkeilyluotsit (a one-year nature training programme developed in Mäntyharju), a certified canoeing instructor and a trained snowshoeing guide.

I have worked as both a project planner and project manager in a nature tourism development project between Mäntyharju and Repovesi National Park, which was awarded Outdoor Destination of the Year in 2015.

I know the local nature routes, businesses and services in depth. I have written much of the content for the Visit Mäntyharju website, as well as route descriptions for hiking, canoeing and cycling. I have also designed a 22 km nature and culture trail and the popular forest playground in Kisala. 

I have worked for four years in Mäntyharju’s official tourist information and have experience in regional tourism development and communications. 

I am also familiar with our lakeside area. 

I know many of our travel scenes business owners in personally. 

Today, I am part of the Welcome Cyclist and Visit Mäntyharju networks and a partner entrepreneur of Repovesi National Park
